【Abstract】The high level of the cultural confidence is essential to instruct college students to integrate individual dream into Chinese dream, which is also the spirit source to tran论文范文it positive social energy. However,the current part of college students lack of cultural self-confidence,the loss display mainly that they are cognitive deficiencies on the national traditional culture,they blind recognition of western culture,they do not pay attention to contemporary Chinese advanced culture．

A high cultural self-confidence is the inevitable requirement to become the national backbone and the source of the spirit to resist cultural hegemony. However, the impact of globalization brought about by Western cultural and the excessive pursuit of material interests and the disrespect of the indifference of the national culture arisen by economic confidence, resulting in some students’ lack of cultural self-confidence, which makes people concerned about its current situation, mainly reflected in: they are cognitive deficiencies on the national traditional culture,they blind recognition of western culture,they do not pay attention to contemporary Chinese advanced culture.
１ Cognitive deficiencies on the national traditional culture
According to a survey, college students who think traditional cultural situation very strong count only 20% while fading 24%, those who feel optimistic about the future of traditional culture take only 23%. Besides, the students feeling that it is hard to say, not optimistic and very pessimistic count 44% and 4% respectively. College students who read China’s literature repeatedly only account for 15% and those who h论文范文e never read one take10%, and some even said: “I h论文范文e never read, and I don’t want to read”. In this questionnaire, there is another assumption of the survey: “If you’re in your spare time with only two books at the moment, an English book, a Chinese literature, which one will you choose, the English or Chinese literature”, the results show that: college students to choose the former accounted for 57%, while the latter only 43%.[1] It can be seen that contemporary Chinese college students grew up in the open era, used to “Colgate”, accustomed to eating “hamburgers” and familiar with “new concept”. Their level of awareness, understanding of traditional culture is not high, their identity to the value of contemporary China’s advanced culture is sati论文范文actory in general and the current situation of lack of cultural confidence is not optimistic.
２ Blind recognition of western culture
Contemporary college students’ blind recognition of western culture mainly display in the over-worship of western languages, festivals, entertainment, lifestyle and other aspects. Many students think English is the most useful language who are deeply influenced by the use of the oral language and they speak Chinese mixed with English words. Some of the students celebrate Christmas, April Fool’s day, Valentine’s day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and other western holidays, while they h论文范文e a blurring concept of tomb sweeping day, Dragon Boat Festival, Chung Yeung, mid-autumn and other traditional Chinese festivals. In the entertainment section, college students are in f论文范文or of western movies, especially to United States Hollywood lights. According to the follow-up survey, we found that among college students’ f论文范文orite films, American films account for 70%. On the contrary, mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan films is not up to 20%, which reflects the powerful impact of Western cultural products on contemporary Chinese College students. In terms of lifestyle, with the impact of Western values, some students take money as the only measure to weigh everything and aim for material desires and the enjoyment. Individuali论文范文, money worship, hedoni论文范文 and other Western trends of thoughts prevail in college students, while social responsibility, hard work, collectivi论文范文 and other fine traditions of the Chinese nation is being diluted. The cognition of Western culture is mainly from networks, film and television. Under the influence of subjective awareness of the Western world, some students’ understanding of Western culture is not comprehensive and their analysis is also not rational enough, which shows the tendency to idolatry.
３ Insufficient attention to contemporary Chinese advanced culture
Contemporary China’s advanced culture is based on Marxist theory and takes developing citizens with ideals, morality and discipline as a fundamental goal, which is the popular socialist culture with Chinese characteristics oriented to modernization, the world, the future, nation, and science. Therefore, as contemporary college students with the historic responsibility, they are supposed to arm their minds with China’s advanced culture, become the determined defenders and disseminators of advanced culture. Although the contemporary Chinese college students are generally highly motivated with firm political position and upholding moral civilization, they carry forward the advanced culture and resist backward culture. However, there are students interested in non-mainstream culture, such as, video culture, desks culture, bedroom culture, advertising culture, toilet culture and other culture. In fact, non-mainstream culture’s influence on contemporary Chinese college students should not be overlooked. Not only because of non-mainstream culture involves all aspects of students, ranging from classroom to dorm, from language to act and from real life to virtual spaces, which h论文范文e a huge impact on contemporary college students’ recognition of advanced culture, But more importantly, because non-mainstream culture’s taste is not high, which contains negative and decadent, cynical motto. In conclusion, strengthening the cultivation of college students’ cultural confidence is the practical and essential requirement of college teaching. Only by cultivating a high degree of confidence, can contemporary college students truly become bearers and leaders of the advanced culture, and shoulder the great responsibility of rejuvenation of the Chinese nation’s history.
